This is a digital painting created in Photoshop. I've been a tropical fishkeeper for many years, so aquatic creatures tend to interest me. Mermaids are often connected to the Sirens, leading sailors to their watery graves. This digital painting was created as a practice in posing and expression. I wanted to make sure that the character had a clear silhouette and to show this mysterious but dark and powerful side of the creature.
