After some experimentation in color, I kept this blue-green sky because I love the color blue, but I also thought the colors were like dreams - similar to reality but vivid in actually unnatural ways. The butterflies swarming the tree were in my head originally leaves. I imagined a tree silhouette bursting into motion as the viewer discovers that the leaves were really just a collection of wings.
